Piedmont Region of Italy - June 2019
The Piedmont Region gallery is from our June 2019 culinary tour. We immersed ourselves into the area’s culture, wine, chocolates, hazelnuts, black truffles and the importance of DOCG/DOC production and local food. We watched the making of small run, high quality chocolates in a family owned business and toured a hazelnut farm and processing. In Barbaresco, we had a cooking class and lunch with the family that produces pasta, sauces, antipasto, desserts, etc. for area restaurants and locals. We also toured Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards and tasted outstanding red and white wines and dined in great, local restaurants on courses representing the area's food.
