King Tide Waves II

King Tide Waves III

A "King Tide" is a marine event when the full moon corresponds with high tides on the Oregon Coast. If there is also bad weather (e.g., heavy rains and high winds), the King tide can be life threatening for those not taking it seriously if the visit the coastline. When the warnings go out that King Tides are on the way, you have to give Mother Nature a wide berth due to high and powerful surf; strong rip tides that can grab you off the beach or beachside trail and take you out to sea, as well as debris in the water such as entire trees, etc. In short, King Tides are dangerous, but an awesome show of Nature's raw power.
